Something for the Weekend Gadgets
Logitech Lapdesk - Golite Blu - Wii Your Shape by Something for The Weekend
First Published: 10/01/2010 11:43:50With last week's show being a best of offering, the Something for the Weekend broadcast on 10th January 2010 was the first proper show of the new year. The loverly Amanda Hamilton has now left spend more quality time with her family and her replacement, Louise Redknapp, has taken over as Tim Lovejoy's wing woman. This week's Something for the Weekend gadget section (i.e. the best bit) as usual featured three gadgets. Seemar Parmar joined Tim on the sofa to demonstrate the Logitech Lapdesk, the Philips Golite Blu and the Wii Your Shape fitness game.
Logitech Lapdesk
The first Something for the Weekend gadget of the new year was the N700 Logitech Lapdesk. The N700 is a stand for your laptop that has a built-in fan that blows cool air through a ventilated surface to the underside of the laptop. In addition to keeping your laptop cool the N700 also contains integrated speakers that may well provide a lot better sound quality than your existin laptop speakers. The stand is powered from your laptop's USB port which also provides the sound for the speaker, so it's all very neat and tidy and if, like me, you clock up a lot of laptop hours then the N700 Lapdesk is a purchase worthy of consideration.
The N700 is availble to preorder from the Logitech website (RRP £69.99)
Philips Golite Blu Energy Light
Next up on this week's show was the Philips HF3330 goLITE BLU Energy Light. The Golite Blu combats Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) by providing an artifical alternative to sunlight through the dark nights. Research has show that our mood and energy levels suffer ff we don’t get enough of the right kind of light, The Golite Blu used blue LED technology to help you beat those winter blues by replacing the essential light signals that help you to feel happy and energetic. The Golite Blu has a built-in clock and treatment alarm to remind you when to use it, and is easily programmed using a backlit touch screen.
Buy the Philips Golite Blu Energy Light from Amazon for £138.70 (RRP £250.00)
Wii Your Shape with Camera
The last item on this week's Something for the Weekend gadget section was the Wii Your Shape fitness game. Your Shape uses a TV-top camera to track your movement while you are taken throught a series of aerobic excercises. In doing so you get a personalised, effective and fun workout with out the need for straps and equipment required by other Wii fitness games. The Wii Your Shape could be the perfect thing to burn off that christmas excess.
Buy the Wii Your Shape with Camera from Amazon for £29.99 (RRP £49.99)
