Guardcam - 3D Laptop - Voice Controlled Helicopter by Something for The Weekend

First Published: 07/02/2010 11:33:28

Gadget girl Ella Williamson joined Tim Lovejoy to present the gadgets section on this week's Something for the Weekend.  The "Some Things for the Weekend" this week were the Guardcam Security Light, the ASUS G51D 3D laptop and the Nikko Voice Controlled Helicopter.

Esp Guardcam Security Light

The Guardcam Security Light is an all-in-one floodlight, security camera, speaker and digital video recording system.  The Guardcam combines an Eco-friendly Grade C 230w halogen lamp and a high-resolution digital camera to deliver clear image recording in video or still frame format directly to a 2Gb SD card.  The light illumination provided by the halogen lamp means that images taken at night retain both colour and clarity. In addition to this the Guardcam also provides an audible alert speaker with choice of 3 warnings.  As demonstrated on the show these voice messages of "Warning you are trespassing",
"Warning you are being captured on video" and a barking dog sound to scare the hebegebees out of would be trespassers. Connect it to mains power, fix to wall and the Guardcam will record straight to the supplied SD card to give you increased peace of mind.

ASUS G51J 3D Laptop

With the 3D experience being all the rage at the moment, next up on the Something for the Weekend gadget showcase was the ASUS G51D 3D laptop. The G51D is the  the World's First Gaming laptop with NVIDIA 3D Vision Technology.  It's also not a bad spec as a laptop either and comes shipped with a 1.6 GHz Intel Core i7-720QM Processor with Turbo Boost up to 2.8 GHz and 4GB memory.  Anlong with this you get Windows 7 Home Premium, a Blu-ray combo drive and a built-in 2 megapixel video camera.

Nikko Voice Controlled Helicopter
