Zoku Quick Pop Maker -Yuuwaa Plus - Penny Farthing by Something for The Weekend

First Published: 30/05/2010 12:05:07

The gadgets on this week's Something for the Weekend were a mixed bunch.  The first item presented by Seemar Parmar was the Zoku Quick Pop Maker, an ice pop maker that can knock up ice lolly's in less than ten minutes, the Yuuwaa Plus, a flash drive that allows connection to online storage followed, and finally there was a Penny Farthing for Tim to take around the BBC carpark.

Zoku Quick Pop Maker

Buy Zoku Quick Pop Maker from Firebox for £39.99

The Zoku Quick Pop Maker is a super-fast ice pop maker that makes ice lollies in about seven to nine minutes. Store the base in your freezer and it will be ready to freeze ice pops in minutes rather than hours. Requiring no electricity Zoku uses a special liquid inside the base to accelerate the feezing process and will make up to nine ice pops before you need to stick it back in the freezer. The Zoku includes six reusable lolly sticks a large orange lolly removal tool and a recipe leaflet. It can be used to freeze diluted squash, freshly-squeezed fruit juices and healthy yoghurt.

Yuuwaa Plus Flash Drive

Buy Yuuwaa Plus from Amazon for £20.57

The Yuuwaa Plus is the first flash drive to combine flash drive storage with an online storage, backup and sharing service.  It combines 8GB flash drive with 50 GB online storage space on a secure server, accessable via the internet.  There is a fee associated with the online storage, however you do get the first 6 months for free. Yuuwaa Plus is produced by Gemalto, the world leader in digital security and uses 128-bit-SSL technology for secure data transfer.

Penny Farthing

Penny FarthingThe final item on this week's Something for the Weekend was a real blast from the past.  Just like the bicycles of yore the Penny Farthing has a big front wheel and a little back one, however the front wheel on the modern day version is slightly less frightening at 32" in diameter.  You do still end up sitting pretty high up in the air, and as demonstrated by Tim there is a bit of a skill in mounting this beast.  The Penny Farthing comes with a durable steel frame, steel cranks with anti-slip pedals and a rear wheel break.  You also get pneumatic tyres and a sprung saddle to make the new Penny Farthing a little more comfortable that the one your grandad's dad used to ride.  All you need is something from Chris Eubank's wardrobe and you're away.  To be fair though, you will likely recieve some looks no matter what your attire.
