Something for the Weekend Gadgets
Vision Toaster - WiFi Scales - PicoZ SkyBot by Something for The Weekend
First Published: 24/01/2010 12:46:17This week's Something for the Weekend gadget section was presented by an Asian girl who's name I can couldn't catch. I can only appologies because this apperance was her second on the show. Anyway the gadget girl with no name (for now) joined Tim Lovejoy to demonstrate the Magimix Vision Toaster, the Withings WiFi Body Scales, and some PicoZ SkyBot Attack Robots.
Magimix Vision Toaster
The Magimix Vision Toaster is fifteen years in the development and the world's first toaster to give a panoramic view of each slice as it cooks. The result is no more burnt toast and instead baguettes, muffins, crumpets, buns and teacakes browned to perfection. So why did the boffins take so long to come up with this bad boy? The problem was that they had to find away toast without using traditional metal heating elements which would obscure the view. The solution was to place the metal plates behind long life quartz elements in the corners of the toaster to deflect heat evenly across the bread. In addition to this they've included a full length slide out crumb tray and opening glass windows to make cleaning easier, and defrost, reheat and auto stop buttons to allow you to get your toast etc. bob on. Isn't it good when the gadgeteers solve one of life's little problems?

Withings WiFi Body Scales
Next up on this week's Something for the Weeked were the Withings WiFi Body Scales. As with the Magimix Vision Toaster showcased previously, the Withings WiFi Body Scales represents another first. These are the first scales linked to the internet to automatically register weight, fat and BMI calculation. This allows you to monitor and analyzes your weight loss and body composition over time using a password-secured online dashboard, or you can check your weight and fat mass using your iPhone with a free application. Add to this the automatic user recognition that gives you personnalized multi-user monitoring, and you hace a piece of high performance electronic technology that this far was only availalble to health professionals.

PicoZ SkyBot Attack Robots
The final gadgets on this week's show were the PicoZ SkyBot Attack Robots. These cyber-warriors take to the air for battle and can shoot each other out of the sky. Score a direct hit with a well-placed infra-red blast and your rival’s rotors will cut out, causing them to fall from the sky. Your robot is controlled using a twin-channel contoller that doubles up as a charger. Charge for 20 minutes and your ready to take to the sky for about five. Not suitable for children under 3 Years old.
