20th December 2009

The gadget section on this week's Something for the Weekend was presented by the gadget girl Nikki Moore.  The gadgets showcased this week were Treasure Seeker's Shoes, the 3D Interactive Smart Globe and Puchi Petwear, a design clothing range for pet's that includes a Santa Claus outfit.

Treasure Seeker's Shoes

First up on this week's Something for the Weekend gadget section were some Treasure Seeker's Shoes.  A clever little idea, these metal-detecting sandals have a detector pack straps to you ankle using an elasticated band.  You can then wander around around beach seaching for that price-less golden dabloon.  When to do the ankle pack will vibrate or beep.  Treasure Seeker's Shoes are probably pretty useful around the house too, if you're looking for that screw you dropped in the shagpile.  With Treasure Seekers having the appearance of regular beach or summer wear, they are a little more discreet that the traditional metal detecting, and consequently you are less likely to draw attention to yourself.  However if you would rather get noticed you could always wear then with socks.

Treasure Seeker's Shoes are available at I Want One of Those for £39.99

3D Interactive Smart Globe

Next up on this week's Something for the Weekeng gadget section show was the 3D Interactive Smart Globe. An educational little gizmo for suitable for ages 5+,  the Smart Globe  uses a wireless smart pen to discover facts about all the countries on the globe.  Point the pen at the the fact you're after and then at the country you interested in.  The Smart Globe includes masses of useful information including currencies, capital cities, national anthems, history and current leaders, along with 30 games that make it a truly interactive learning experience.

The 3D Interactive Smart Globe is available from I Want One of Those for £99.99

Puchi Petwear

Lastly and, if we're honest, leastly was Puchi Petwear.  A gadget?  Not really I would say.  Anyway if you have a dog and are wierd enough to want to dress it up in Santa coat, or a Elf costume then check out the Puchi Petwear website.

Sadly this week's Something for the Weekend was the georgeous Amanda Hamilton's final appearance on the show.  The Something for the Weekend Gadgets TLog would like to wish Amanda all the best for the future.
