Jelly Fish LampWithings WiFi Body Scales

Available from Firebox for £129.99

The first gadget reviewed on this BBC2's Something for the Weekend this week was the Yantouch Jelly Fish Lamp.  This saucer-shaped mood lamp uses bright LED lights to create 16 million combinations of colour and brightness, that can be controlled using a touch-panel interface.  You can therefore set the lamp to exactly the colour you want to match the lamp's setting.  If you'd prefer a more psychedelic effect then the Jelly Fish Lamp also features a colour flow mode, with a variable fade speed setting,  that cycles the lamp between the colours of your choice.  You can even switch off the front illumination, to give a laid-back backlit effect.

Antigravity Platform

Available from I Want One of Those for £89.99

Antigravity PlatformMoving us one step closer to the ever elusive hoverboard, the next gadget showcased by Seemar and Tim was the Antigravity Platform.  This gadget uses an electromagnet to levitate small objects a few centimeters above.  It is shipped with a small globe but you can levitate other objects upto a weight of about 85 grams using the magnetic stand that is also included.  The platform also has blue lights embedded in it in order you can illuminate the trinket you chose to display.

Remote Control Football Game

Remote Control Football Game

Available from Toys R Us for £19.99

With the FIFA World Cup not to far from us the final gadget on this weeks SFTW was the Remote Control Football Game.  This game gives each player a remote-controlled boot and a goal the idea is that you do what Wayne Rooney will be doing in South Africa this summer and slam the ball into the back of the net.  The RC Football Game is easy to set-up and play and effectively has two skill-levels as you can play with or without scoops that fit to the front of your boot.  As Tim and Seemar demonstrated it looks a fast and fun game that would be enjoyed by kids of all sizes and ages, including old ones like me.
