GEAR4 UnityRemote
The first gadget on this week's Something for the Weekend was the UnityRemote from GEAR4. The UnityRemote is a "covert discrete" device that turns your iPod touch, iPhone or iPad into a universal remote control. It works with a dedicated application that is free to download and your iThing is pared with UnityRemote over blutooth. It's then just a case of finding the code for you particular TV, Blu-ray player or home cinema system and you are away.

Sony Dev-5 Digital Recording Binoculars
Buy Sony Dev-5 Digital Recording Binoculars from Jessops for £1999.95
Next up we had a souped-up pair of 3D Digital Recording Binoculars from Sony. The Sony Dev-5 3Ds are a very futuristic-looking pare of binoculars that will shoot full 1920 x 1080 HD video and 3D video, and are the World's first digital binoculars to do so. As Lucy pointed out, because you are looking at the video through two seperate eye peices, you can playback in 3D without the need for glasses. With Dev-5's you can shoot from as close as 1cm in 2D and 80cm in 3D. I'm not sure what that means, however I suspect serious wildlife and sports enthusiasts and stalkers willing to shell of nearly two grand on these babies will. In addition to this you also get auto-focus and image stablisation.
Petron Light Adult Compound Bow Archery Kit
Petron Light Adult Compound Bow Archery Kit from Amazon for £54.99
Finally on this week's Something for the Weekend gadget round up we had the Petron Compound Bow Kit. Unlike a traditional bow which uses the flex in the bow to put tension in the string, the Petron uses a pully system to make drawing the string back and holding it a bit easier. You can also adust the draw length and the draw weight depending what range you are shooting over and what weight and draw you feel comfortable with. It comes in three models, youth, light-adult and adult. The light adult version was demoed on SFTW as this is best suited for beginners.
